You may be wondering what I do to provide my clients with an amazing experience. First of all, I take the time to educate them on the process of buying or selling a home in North Carolina. NC has something called the Due Diligence Period that is very unique and it is critical that you understand what it means to you as a buyer and/or seller. Secondly, when touring properties with my clients I point out defects or potential issues that may require further investigation. I go into the crawlspace and attic to identify issues that other agents miss. No, I am not a home inspector, but my experience repairing and updating my four investment properties has given me the experience I need to advise my clients with confidence. Thirdly, I help them do as much Due Diligence BEFORE making an offer to avoid having the transaction fall apart during the Due Diligence Period. In the past three years, I have only had one client terminate the transaction during the DD Period and it had nothing to do with any needed repairs. I point out potential issues like power lines, flood zones, drainage issues, potential zoning changes, school zones, and anything else that could negatively impact the desirability of a property. Finally, I complete a detailed and accurate Comparative Market Analysis on properties to determine the Probable Sales Price, the first step in determining how to price a listing or how much to offer for a property.
Before becoming a Realtor, I proudly served my country as an officer in the US Army after graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY (where I met my wife, Kel). After fulfilling my military commitment at assignments at Fort Ord, CA, Fort Sill, OK, and Istanbul, Turkey, I started a career in the food service and retail industries. Working for companies including Apple, Chevron, Target, KFC and Quiznos Subs, I moved with my wife and two daughters to states including VA, KY, NJ, CA and finally NC. Raleigh has been our home since 2000 and we love living in the Triangle and all that it offers.
To provide the best possible support for my clients, I obtained training and certifications including Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI), Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES), Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Military Relocation Professional (MRP), and Strategic Pricing Specialist (SPS). In order to give back to my industry, I applied for and was selected for the Leadership Academy of the Raleigh Regional Association of Realtors in 2017. That prepared me for future positions on our association and working with non-profits in the area. I also serve as a Board Member of the Realtor Foundation of Wake County, the charitable arm of our association. I am very proud of many charitable projects they support, but especially for the apartments we furnish for the most deserving homeless families in our area.
I am also an authorized agent for the Navy Federal Realty Plus Program and work with many active duty military and veterans. I love working with veterans and helping them take full advantage of their VA loan benefit. I am also the Senior Vice Commander of American Legion Post 187 in Wake Forest, NC. When I'm not with clients, I'm out enjoying my favorite events and locales in the Raleigh area including the following: the Krispy Kreme Challenge, NC State Fair, NC State Farmers Market, ACC football and basketball, downtown Raleigh, Triangle breweries, Durham Bulls baseball, NC barbecue and my local YMCA. The one trip I make every year is to the Army-Navy football game where I join 200+ of my classmates at an epic tailgate before Army beats Navy.
